Why Your Online Business Will Eventually Require a VA

When I speak about online business, I’m simply talking about your business here in the online world – the website and the social media presence. Most online businesses today no longer have anything to do with a physical product or service. Most of them are now only digital products/services and some are just part of an affiliate program. That’s why there are so many young entrepreneurs eager to venture into having an online business. However, most of them stop within half a year. That’s because little did they know that it takes more than passion for getting things to function better. In order for your online business to succeed, you will need some administrative work, accounting, graphics, content, marketing, and so much more. And that’s mainly the reason you just can’t do it alone in the long run. Sooner or later, you’ll need a VA to help you out.

Aspects in Your Online Business Where a VA Is Needed the Most

Let’s face it, no matter how much you want to take care of your business on a personal level, you just can’t. Why? You lack time. When your business grows, so will the work and everything else. The catch here is that you cannot extend time; you will only have 24 hours in a day. However, you can hire someone and allocate tasks to him/her and use his own time rather than yours – this lightens the load drastically.

Content Writing

Let’s start with the most burdensome work there is in an online business, written content. Just imagine writing a blog post. Writing that alone will take about a few hours to complete. And add a couple more minutes or even an hour perfecting it and publishing it.

By the way, when I talk about content, it’s not only about the blog/article creation. It can also be about writing comments or starting a thread on forums to promote your website. All of these aren’t just seconds or minutes of work, they take hours. How about hiring a professional VA who is good in writing to cover this for you and focus on more important tasks such as planning and improving your strategy.

Social Media Post Scheduling and Posting

Another thing that you can surely make use of a VA is to make them schedule and manage your social media posts. To be honest, this is not a very difficult task and you can easily find someone who can work on the task with ease.

They can either get the posts from your blog or they can search for other relevant content on the internet. Anyone who is capable of using a computer with an eye for shareable content is good enough. Just be sure that he/she is reliable enough to do other tasks that revolve around social media.

Web Developing and Designing

A VA who is armed with web developing and designing skills is very important for those who aren’t familiar with WordPress or any other website builder. Though it is only great for huge websites such as an eCommerce site, it is still essential to have one as an on-call VA if web development is somewhat too complex for you. You don’t want to mess with your site and code it on your own because if something goes wrong, you’ll be very sorry in the end.

Digital Marketing SMM/SEO

Last but not least on my list is about digital marketing. Whether it is about ranking for Google or using ads on social media, a VA will still be best to work this out. Just take note, I said work this out and not plan it. Of course, since ads and other SEO tactics involve expenses, it would be wise to plan it ahead and just provide instructions. Your VA can navigate this for you and simply report the results on a daily or weekly basis. Not only are you working with a professional and has a higher chance of providing real results, you’ll also have a few new tricks to learn from them.

Where to Find Them?

There are loads of websites that allows you to outsource a VA. Some of them are paid per project through the site and some can be negotiated directly with the VA. Here are just a few that can get you started.
