Tips to See Better Engagement on Instagram

Engagement on Instagram isn’t as easy as it looks. Most brands/companies are struggling to make sure their audience is participating and getting amused often. Because people seeing your posts isn’t enough, they have to be engaged, liking, commenting, using your signature hashtags, and sharing anything they can from your profile.

When your followers are always participating, the results can be promising. You will gain more new organic followers (who are genuinely interested in your brand), better reputation, and better sales.

If you think your profile is boring and likes are the only thing pouring in, check my simple tips to have better engagement on Instagram.

Only Post Inspiring & Motivating Content with Real Value – No Fluffs

This is the most important tip you should remember. You get people to follow you when you provide something positive and with substance. Do not give them anything trivial; people are tired of mediocrity.Post something they can use on a day-to-day basis or something they’d remember.

Pictures with quotes are one good example. However, also place a nice caption. Tell them why you’ve chosen such a quote with that specific photo; give them something to read that would also entertain them.

Ask Them Questions and Make Some Activities

Obviously, another success key for better engagement on Instagram is engagement. Ask them questions and give them some activities to work on. Here are examples:

  • How was your day?
  • What motivates you, today?
  • Do you have any suggestions to make our profile better?
  • What is your favorite post on our profile, so far?
  • How do you cope up with daily stress?

The list goes on and on; your imagination is the limit! Quick activities or instructions like, “tag your best friend, tag someone you’d like to be here with,” are extremely effective.

Reveal Something Personal Sometimes

This seems irrelevant for some, but for companies with a face – especially influencers– this is very important. This will show your audience that you’re not just into business; it shows them you want to connect with people. And, most importantly, it shows them you’re not just a logo.

Giving them a few photos of “behind the scenes” is very effective. It need not be a weekly thing; you can do it once or twice a month. Pictures like showing how the product is made or what you or your team does during breaks are nice examples. Or, show them who motivated you to do all of these in the first place. Things like that are impressive, even vital, for your audience.
